Noel Pearson Remembers Gough Whitlam

This speech is being touted as the best ever Australian speech ever.

For those of you who may have missed it, here it is in its entirety. I suggest you watch it.

Noel Pearson Remembers Gough Whitlam

For those of us who are old enough, we all have our memories of Gough. Depending on your point of view, Gough was either a hero or a villain.

Gough was both to me. A hero for all the points Pearson alludes to in Gough's reformation of both politics, and equality. A villain for the insidious and clandestine manner in which he sold Australia to the Americans in the 'Australia Act' of 1973.

Very few people even know about the 'Australia Act', and yet it is the single most decisive piece of legislation to be enacted.

It is on my bucket list to create a video as to how detrimental the 'Australia Act' has been to all Australians.
